Ryan Asma

Ryan Asma is currently interning in Brand Management. He will be a senior this fall at SUNY Geneseo and is studying Communications. Ryan has been kept busy during his time at NYCM learning what goes on behind the scenes of the company’s brand.

“I have been researching the best way to update our company’s brand standards guide, which is a written standard for how a brand presents itself when it comes to things like our brand’s logo and colors,” said Ryan. “I also just started brainstorming about how to design the walls in the NYCM Store.”

He chose to intern at NYCM because “...I wanted to gain experience for my future and have also heard about how great of a company it is to work for and how great the culture is through many family friends.”

Ryan’s favorite thing about interning is the people he gets to work with and interact with every day. “You know you are in a good place when you actually look forward to coming in every day” he said. In his free time, Ryan enjoys spending time outdoors, whether playing sports with family and friends, or riding four-wheelers and snowmobiles. He also loves to hunt and fish.

During Jacob’s internship in Customer Service, he said that he has learned “...if one division or branch of a company doesn’t work correctly, it can impact the rest of the company. Connecting with the customers and making them feel like they are in the right place for business is very crucial to a company’s success.”

Jacob said the most valuable part of his internship is seeing firsthand how a successful company operates on a day-to-day basis. “I wanted to get a feel of how a real business is run and how things are structured,” he said.

His favorite part about interning is “Learning how to do new things and having a support group to help me with any questions that I might have.” In Jacob’s free time, he likes to exercise and play soccer.

Tyler Cole

Tyler Cole is a sophomore at St. John Fisher College studying Business Administration.
