NYCM Insurance Receives “Culture Creator” Award by Commerce Chenango



At NYCM Insurance, we recognize the importance of a healthy, balanced company culture. We work hard to provide a space for our employees that facilitates both personal and professional growth. On June 17th, 2021, NYCM Insurance was awarded the first ever “Culture Creator” award at the Celebration of Commerce Chenango Gala. 

 

The Gala was formed as a celebration of member businesses nominated by their peers, and winners were chosen for their accomplishments and achievements over this past year. “The Gala was truly a celebration of not only the deserving businesses and individuals noted, but also a celebration of Chenango County and all we have accomplished in the past year,” said Commerce Chenango President & CEO, Kerri Green.

NYCM’s award-winning employee wellness program, 365 Passport to Wellness puts a true emphasis on all aspects of wellness: physical, mental, emotional, and financial. “365” is included in the program title because NYCM believes wellness is something we should commit to every day of the year. The program runs on a point-based system - with points referred to as “stamps.” Because wellness is something that can affect every aspect of life, we believe stamp opportunities should be as diverse as everyone’s different lifestyles. Every department throughout the company has a Wellness Advocate who communicates with them all of the different ways to earn stamps and helps them keep track of their progress. At the end of the year, stamps are tallied up and winners receive incentives based on the number of stamps earned.

 

NYCM also offers a program known as the “Employee Enrichment Journey,” which is a personal development path designed to help employees reflect and apply learning in identified skill areas. The program is a great opportunity for self-development and for obtaining skills that benefit employees both inside and outside the workplace. NYCM also boasts an education incentive program and has a committee, referred to as our Culture Team, that is dedicated to organizing employee and culture enrichment activities and events all year long!
